Cookie Policy

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how The Quotation Index ("the site") uses cookies and similar technologies.

The site does not currently set cookies. It does, however, use your browser’s session storage for a limited purpose: to remember the quotations you have visited during your current browsing session so that you can easily return to a quotation you have already read.

2. Session storage

When you visit quotations on the site, information needed to maintain a trail of the quotations you have visited is stored in session storage in your web browser.

This allows the site to show you your recent quotation history and makes it easier to return to quotations you have previously read.

The information is stored entirely on your device in your browser. It is not sent to us, stored on our servers or made available to us.

Session storage is temporary rather than permanent. It is intended to remain available only for the current browser session rather than being stored as a lasting record of your activity.

3. Why we use session storage

We use session storage solely to provide the quotation-history feature described above and to improve your experience while navigating the site.

We do not use the information stored there:

  • to identify you;
  • to analyse how visitors use the site;
  • to create visitor statistics;
  • to build a profile of you;
  • to track you across websites or browsing sessions;
  • for advertising or marketing; or
  • to send information about your quotation history to our servers or to third parties.

Your quotation history exists only within your browser for the purpose of providing this feature to you.

4. Cookies

The Quotation Index does not currently set cookies, either directly or through an analytics or advertising service.

We do not use Google Analytics or another comparable analytics service, and we do not use cookies for advertising, profiling or behavioural tracking.

5. Third parties

We do not provide your session-storage quotation history to third parties.

The session-storage functionality operates within your browser, and the information stored for that purpose is not transmitted to us or to another service.

6. Managing browser storage

Because the quotation history is stored in your own browser, you can remove it by ending the relevant browser session or by clearing site data through your browser’s settings.

Clearing the session storage will remove the quotation history maintained by this feature.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if the technologies used by the site change.

If we introduce cookies, analytics, advertising, persistent browser storage or other technologies that store or access information on your device, we will update this policy to explain what is used, by whom and for what purpose. Where applicable law requires consent, we will obtain that consent before using the relevant technology.

The date at the top of this page shows when this policy was last updated.
